Police Intelligence Operations The foundation of PIO is information and the reality is that credible information has a shelf life; "too old, fast - too smart, slow" The value in the information is diminished over time, so the challenge is in assessing the ' Source ' of the information as well as it's ' Credibility ' as quickly and accurately as possible. One of the best methods for achieving this goal is by applying the Source Reliability and the Information Credibility assessment rubrics. The training on how to apply these rubrics to any information assessment task is relatively simple, and the goal, as depicted in the image below demonstrates the simplicity.
